Fahrenheit

Fahrenheit is the unit of measurement of temperature.

The freezing/melting point of water at a pressure of 1 atmosphere is about 32 °F.

The symbol for the Fahrenheit degree is °F.

Fahrenheit to Celsius conversion

So 0 degrees Fahrenheit is equal to -17.77778 degrees Celsius.

0 °F = -17.77778 °C

So The temperature T in degrees Celsius (°C) is equal to the temperature T in degrees Fahrenheit (°F) minus 32, times [5/9].

T(°C) = (T(°F) - 32) × 5/9

Example 1

Convert 70 degrees Fahrenheit to degrees Celsius:

T(°C) = (70°F - 32) × 5/9 = 21.1111 °C

Example 2

Convert 80 degrees Fahrenheit to degrees Celsius:

T(°C) = (80°F - 32) × 5/9 = 26.6667 °C

Example 3

Convert 100 degrees Fahrenheit to degrees Celsius:

T(°C) = (100°F - 32) × 5/9 = 37.7778 °C

Fahrenheit to Rankine conversion

So 0 degrees Fahrenheit is equal to [459.67] degrees Rankine.

0 °F = 459.67 °R

The temperature T in degrees Rankine (°R) is equal to the temperature T in degrees Fahrenheit (°F) plus [459.67].

T(°R) = T(°F) + 459.67

Example 1

Convert 70 degrees Fahrenheit to degrees Rankine:

T(°R) = 70°F + 459.67 = 529.67 °R

Example 2

Convert 90 degrees Fahrenheit to degrees Rankine:

T(°R) = 90°F + 459.67 = 549.67 °R

Example 3

Convert 100 degrees Fahrenheit to degrees Rankine:

T(°R) = 100°F + 459.67 = 559.67 °R

Fahrenheit to Kelvin conversion

So The temperature T in Kelvin (K) is equal to the temperature T in degrees Fahrenheit (°F) plus 459.67, times [5/9].

T(K) = (T(°F) + 459.67)× 5/9

Example 1

Convert 65 degrees Fahrenheit to degrees Kelvin:

T(K) = (65°F + 459.67)× 5/9 = 291.483 K

Example 2

Convert 80 degrees Fahrenheit to degrees Kelvin:

T(K) = (80°F + 459.67)× 5/9 = 299.817 K

Example 3

Convert 100 degrees Fahrenheit to degrees Kelvin:

T(K) = (100°F + 459.67)× 5/9 = 310.928 K
